Following school board approval of new curriculum and resources, the District is on track to meet its goal of fully implementing a revised curriculum by September 2022.

The District has become an industry leader in providing high-quality healthcare services to our staff and their families while limiting costs, spending $34M less than projected over the past five years. Our partnership with Everside Health promotes employee wellness by offering the right care at the right price at our near-site clinic location.
This June, the #1 seeded Brookfield East Boys Tennis Team finished off another amazing season by defeating Notre Dame (7-0), Marquette (4-3) and Neenah (7-0), bringing home the WIAA Division 1 Team Title for the second straight year! The team finished the season with an impressive 26-3 record, following last year’s undefeated season.
In February 2022, the Brookfield Barracudas Boys Swimming and Diving team took home their first Division 1 WIAA State Championship! The win marked a historic first for a combined program with students from both Brookfield Central and Brookfield East competing, winning with a total of 208 points.
In November 2021, the Brookfield East Girls Swimming and Diving Team won their third consecutive Division 1 State Championship. The girls won a total of nine events and swept all three relays, breaking five state records in the process!
Two of the Elmbrook FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams, the GEarhead and Team Hazmat, won the state competition. Together the teams composed of students from BCHS, BEHS, and WHMS collaborated to achieve a State Record Score of 318.
Brookfield Central High School’s Mock Trial team won the Wisconsin State Bar Mock Trial State Championship! The team ended their season with a record of 13-1, defeating last year’s state champion.
Teammates Hayden Fry and Griffin Geiss brought home the Student Angler Federation state championship with a weigh-in of 12 pounds 15 ounces for their five fish on Lake Waubesa in July!

Elmbrook pathways provide a strong foundation for the K-12 journey towards college, career and life readiness that begins in elementary school and continues through our middle and high schools.
BEHS senior Pakou Thao completed her dental assistant technical diploma as a dual enrollment student at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC)! Thao has been enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at MATC where she has not only excelled in the classroom but also secured a job as a Dental Assistant following her upcoming graduation. Through her Dual Enrollment, she has not only saved time but over $3,000 in tuition. She will be continuing the dentistry program at Marquette University.
2022 Brookfield Central graduate, Danny Gibson, completed his Technical Diploma and set a path towards his Associates Degree at WCTC during his time at Brookfield Central. Gibson took advantage of the Start College Now Program while at Central and in December 2020 he was able to receive his certificate in Automotive Basics from WCTC, followed by a Technical Diploma in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair in May 2021.
PPMS Student Leia Rios was the 2021 recipient of the Inspiring Youth Award for the TMJ4 Positively Milwaukee Awards! Leia was nominated for the award by Generations Against Bullying (GAB) and United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) for her commitment to volunteering within the community and over 3,000 collective hours of community service. As part of the award, she was able to donate $1,000 to be donated to the charity of her choice. She was also named USA National Miss Wisconsin Preteen 2021 and uses her platform to help further promote these causes she is passionate about.
Brookfield East Senior Zane Rothe is a national merit finalist and co-captain of one of the most successful BEAST Robotics teams in history! This year, the combined Elmbrook team won both the WI and MN regionals, earned two design awards, and competed at the World Championships in Houston. BEAST was one of three Elmbrook robotics teams to attend the World Championships.
Brookfield Central Senior Marisa Roth, was named the first-ever 138-pound WIAA Girls State Wrestling Champion in 2021. In her season, Roth went undefeated and only had four points scored against her for the entirety of the season. She has given back to the sport as an official, coach and mentor to girls in the area for several years. Marisa will wrestle at Northern Michigan.
Andrew was the BC Senior Team Captain of the Lancer Boys Basketball team. In 2022, he surpassed 1,000 career points and broke the school record with 51 points in a game against Marquette. Rohde led the Greater Metro Conference in scoring and assists and helped the team bring up the state runner-up trophy with 55 points between the semifinal and championship games.
In 2021 Mckenna Wucherer (BCHS ’22) was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Wisconsin Volleyball. That year she was also selected to represent USA Volleyball at the FIVB U18 World Championships in Mexico taking home the Bronze in the competition. For the class of 2022, Wucherer is the #1 recruit in WI and currently stands at #3 in the nation. Mckenna committed to play for the University of Minnesota.
Thanks to a $50,000 donation from the EEF, Elmbrook’s instrumental music program just got better! Already a leader in offering robust band and orchestra opportunities beginning in 4th grade to all students, Elmbrook also offers the unique opportunity to perform some school musicals and concerts on a full stage at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center. Music education has been proven to help students to thrive in all academic areas, and these funds will help to make important, large instrument purchases for students.
The first-ever Elmbrook 3-minute Film Festival was held in February at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts! For the festival, a total of 19 student films were submitted that can all be viewed here. Six judges graded each of the films and provided feedback to the students on their projects. The judges ranged from UW-Milwaukee Film Professors and Students to Elmbrook Alumni in the Hollywood industry such as a TV Editor and stand-up comedian. The event was coordinated and hosted by BC Drama’s Dan Pronley.
Following completion of her coursework at BEHS, Megan participated in Project STRIVE, which teaches independent living skills, social communication & vocational abilities in real-life settings & through life experiences. Her active participation led to public speaking opportunities this spring where she was engaging and confident in her abilities. This Fall, Megan plans to work part-time as she sets her sights high for the future.
During the pandemic, math teachers Hannah Guth (BEHS) and TJ Reutemann (BCHS) were two of Elmbrook’s educators who earned their Masters degrees as part of a program designed to qualify them to teach college courses as an adjunct professor. The Cooperative Academic Partnership Program requires a certified instructor and course-aligned curriculum. To-date, 28 Elmbrook educators have completed certification in order to expand access to college courses for our students.
Brookfield Central’s Co-Valedictorians Ben Kim and Kevin Niu completed over 30 AP courses in their four years of high school. In recent years, the District has expanded its offerings to include AP Research, AP Human Geography, and AP World History. Assuming three college credits per course, both Ben and Kevin are well on their way to an early college graduation or the pursuit of a double major. Ben will be attending the University of Chicago while Kevin is enrolled at Brown University.

Dual Credit allows students to simultaneously earn college and high school credits through several, college-sponsored on- or off-campus programs.
LAUNCH is a profession-based learning experience providing students with real-world business experiences which result in highly skilled global innovators and leaders.
Charles’ (BEHS ’22) LAUNCH coursework and professional skills earned him the role of Accounting Tax Intern for Mohr CPAs. This opportunity offered good pay and flexible hours while providing practical, hands-on experience in tax preparation. Charles worked tirelessly during a busy tax season to meet the demands of customers, an experience that will serve him well as he pursues a Finance Degree from UW-Madison’s School of Business in the Fall.
Faith (BEHS ‘22) completed the Dual Enrollment Academy’s (DEA) Fire and EMT Program’s six courses to receive her certification. Her participation in the program saved her thousands of dollars in tuition and fees, and allows her to enroll directly into Milwaukee Fire Department’s 2-year Fire Cadet program. “I pursued this path because I’m very passionate about helping others. I can’t wait to help people throughout my career!”
Eva (BCHS ‘22) participated in the Business Analytics and Business and Society LAUNCH strands during her Junior and Senior years. Throughout her time, she worked with Milliman, Milwaukee Tool, The Medical College of Wisconsin & Children’s Hospital, and Concurrency to understand and solve real-world business problems. Eva’s experiences helped her gain admission to the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business beginning in the Fall of 2022.
